Saturday 30th March 2013, Book Club Meeting

Thanks go to the head librarian for allowing book club members to meet at her home during the libraries recent renovations. The book club were lucky to be the first to use one of the new meeting rooms and all who attended were high in praise for the facilities.
Book Club members at head librarians home, enjoying tea, coffee and good books

The book club meet the last Saturday of each month and discuss the book that they have all just read.  The members pay a small fee of $5.00 each month with a gold coin donation going towards tea, coffee and biscuits or cake.

This months book was The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. This story is about a young boy called Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel. He survives 227 days after a shipwreck while stranded on a boat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker

This book received many different reviews and generated a good discussion. The books are graded between 1 -5 with the general consensus being that most people enjoyed the book and would be interested in reading other stories written by the same author.

During this months book club meeting we enjoyed some lovely finger food with our tea and coffee, to celebrate the opening of this beautiful building.
Thank you to all our book club members for coming.  Anyone interested please contact the library on its main phone number or email mountsberrylibrary@bigpond.com

Don't forget our next meeting is on Saturday the 27th April 2013. We will be talking about this months book which is The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne.
